Graffiti legends Blek Le Rat and Doze Green chat about growth in the counter culture art movement, changes in style, and what the future holds for the scene.

The Life In A Bungalo crew paid a visit to Mike Cavallaro’s booth at this year’s New York Comic Con where he enlightened us about his new comic Parade (with Fireworks).
It just took us a little while to get him to admit that he was really Johnny X - The coolest guitar player of 1997.

With his striking mustachioed looks and a sound that can make just about anyone break into a circle dance, Eugene Hutz has taken his troupe of gypsy punks from obscurity to stardom. The band: Gogol Bordello. The sound: Like nothing you’ve ever heard before. They straddle the line between Th’ Legendary Shackshakers and traditional gypsy flamenco, blending accordians, strings, and distorted guitars with tales of hope, defeat, and triumph.
This year, Gogol Bordello have released their best record to date, and hands down the record of the year at Life In A Bungalo. We gave frontman Eugene Hutz a call before his upcoming New Year’s Eve show at New York’s Terminal 5 to learn more about the band’s rise to stardom, and what it’s like being a punk in the Ukraine. From the moment Lookout! Records released the self-titled Donnas record in 1997, punk rockers the world over were smitten with this quartet of rock & roll hotties. Luckily, the band had the chops to back up their pixie-like demeanor. These gals play rock as if it was forged into the Earth by a female god rather than Gene Simmons, and they shred harder than any of the punk rock boy band gracing the cover of Rolling Stone. The best part, they could probably kick my ass. Or at least shred it. Life In A Bungalo Digest chatted with drummer Torry Castellano about their new record, new label, and being forced to do dumb things at photo shoots. Radio Bungalo is pleased to present an interview with Jim Lindberg, lead singer of Pennywise. Besides being the vocalist of one of the biggest bands since the mid-’90s punk explosion, Lindberg is an accomplished author, recently releasing his acclaimed memoir, “Punk Rock Dad.” The book sounds like it might be a silly coming of age story about a out of control punk, but in actuality it is a look at life on the road for one of the hardest working independent bands. This interview will be transcribed next week for those who would rather read than listen, but I encourage you to hear Lindberg talk about his daughters, writing, and life in Pennywise.
